Insightful beyond all expectations that I had. Helpful in understanding the types of underachievement and how to identifying the behaviors that characterize them. More importantly, it describes how to approach the underachievement in a systematic and repeatable manner. It has the appearance of a shallow 10 Step Program, but it is instead rich in the approach of understanding the feelings and thoughts of a child that underly the underachievement, and may be masked by the more superficial. Excellent book about the reality of underachievers and their families. I'm so grateful I found it. Every teacher should read it as well.

  • Valerie

The irony of being a teacher who read this book because of her own son is not lost on me.

  • Roslyn Ross

    Brilliant. I love reality.
