Rock Solid Relationships is a rock solid book that teaches that the answers to human relations are in the scriptures, and gives several examples of little things in the scriptures that when pondered, reveal a lot of information.Table of ContentsIntroduction1. Do One Small Thing “Out of small things proceedeth that which is great.”2. Give the Love You Want to Receive “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye even so to them. “3. Watch Your Thoughts about [...]

I really like the premise of this book - study the scriptures, learn the wisdom and principles found there, apply them to your life and relationships. In other words read and apply the scriptures in your relationships. There were a few verses and ideas I may not have thought of and appreciated, but I think this is something we can and should all do for ourselves. There are answers and inspiration and direction for us in the scriptures. Applying them will help us to grow and improve. Some of the p [...]

This book is appealing because its goes beyond just developing good relationships into developing resilient relationships. The author gives really solid truth based principles and examples on relationship building. While most people may have thought of a few of these some point, this is a very good reminder and objective list of the fundamentals of building a strong relationship. The biggest change in my thinking was that often good relationship decisions contradict logical decisions. For exampl [...]

I loved this book! There is so much good stuff in here that will help you see many different ways of improving the relationships in your life. I love the way Watson uses the scriptures to help illuminate each concept she discusses. The scriptural passages she uses are spot on, and I found myself understanding both the scriptures themselves better, as well as understanding how to apply them to the relationships in my life. Watson also does an excellent job of sharing real-life examples that reall [...]

Scriptural application to improve relationships. I like this one for the same reasons I like Don't Leap with the Sheep. Wendy l> Watson, PhD. (Russel M, Nelson's wife) - gives great advice straight from the scriptures:Chapters:Do One Small Thing (Out of small things.)Give the Love you Want to Receive (whatsoever ye would that men should do)Watch Your Thoughts about Others (For as a man thinketh)Bury your Weapons of War (you knwo this story, right?)There's More to Giving Than Meets the Eye (wi [...]

I enjoyed reading this book. It was very informative and had a lot of good insight. Information that makes you stop and really think. All the chapters were good, but chapter 5 was exceptional in my opinion. The Author's analogy of the Little Red Hen in the chapter was very creative to use to detail her topic. Again, her experiment in the fifth chapter to try, I genuinely liked. I have $1 in my judgement jar thus far. Over all a wonderful book to read for strengthening any relationship of all typ [...]

This book has a lot of helpful insights from the scriptures for improving all of our various relationships; family, friends, co-workers, etc. I feel it is a very beneficial book to read. What you get from it depends upon your own personal circumstances and needs. The impressions you get while reading it may change, depending upon current circumstances. As a result, it is probably worth buying and keeping a copy, rather than just reading once.

I've read this book slowly, about one chapter a week to give me time to think about each one. It has been the best book I've ever read on relationships. The difference and thing that I loved the most was that it was based on scriptures (many found in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ and some from the Bible). I know I will read this over and over to remind myself of how to be better in so many of my relationships. I would highly recommend it.

  • Ruth

I really love how positive the author is. You get a good bit of the same wonderful advice you get when you hear her in person (but the charisma of seeing her in person is a bit more muted in book form). Still, her suggestions are right on point, and I think it's wonderful to make choices about our relationships with others by using the scriptures. That's as it should be! I've enjoyed this book.

  • Marcy

Great book on building relationships. I appreciate the way the author uses scripture to back her points. Great ideas on how to keep working on the many relationships we have, the many roles we play in this life. Great book to read again and again & always find another thing to work on.

  • DeAnn

This book is wonderful!! Great, insightful things that we probably all know but need to be reminded of to improve our relationships. Each chapter has a gem in it and I found myself not wanting to read on until I practiced and experimented on what I learned. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!!!

  • Amy

I enjoyed how this book gave me a challenge at the end of each chapter. It made me take my time and apply the concepts that I learned. I had several ah-ha moments while reading. Wendy did an excellent job of applying the scriptures to our daily relationship issues. Read it!

  • Kirsten

I loved how simple this book was and how she had you "experiment upon the word" after each chapter. I need to read it again and really actually try each of the challenges. I loved the perspectives she took from the scriptures and applied them specifically to our daily lives.

  • Lydiaf

This was a GREAT book! Using the scriptures, the LDS author shows how we can improve our relationships. She proves that any answer can come from the scriptures. I need to re-read it to apply more of it to my relationships.

  • Sara

I have learned so much about relationships and how to improve them. This book is life changing for me. I will read it again and againand use the questions at the end of the chapters to help me.Thank you.

  • Lindsay

This book is amazing. I do like book like this, but this is the best I've ever read. It is uplifting and inspired me in many many ways. I will reread it one chapter at a time while trying to implement the principles. I want to read more from this author.

The little things really do matter.

  • LaSchelle

A fabulous lesson in communication that is scripturally based. This is applicable to any relationship.I've read it a few times and could probably use a refresher course again.

  • Christine

This book changed my life and my relationship with my husband, it will strengthen yours too especially if your about to be empty nesters.

  • Leslie

This book will change my life (and that of some of my family) if I can get myself to do all the work I need to do. It's left me very hopeful and optimistic, however.

  • Karen

This book left me with a lot to think about. I especially liked the chapter about the mother making her 'light' brighter for the benefit of her family. I could work a little on my own shine.

  • Allison

    sounds like a good read.

  • Elaine

Basically this is how to strengthen your relationships by first having one with the Savior and how the two are related to each other. Good advice in here.
