  • Live Love Read Repeat

Another light, pleasant, yet slightly trite, read from the Glen Avich series. I don't think it was overly well written, but I'm a sucker for the Scottish highlands. This story is about Margherita, who leaves her London life to go stay with her mother in Glen Avich for the summer with her son Leo and fourteen year old adopted daughter Lara. She leaves behind her a marriage to the cold, controlling and self-centred Ash. Margherita begins working for Lord Torcuil Ramsay of Ramsay Hall, and slowly b [...]

Another wonderful storyI love these books!! I keep thinking that they can't be as good as the last one but every one is as wonderful as the one before. The fact that they can be read as single books or as a series is even better but beware, you'll be hooked by them!

It is always pleasant to go back to Glen Avich and spend some time in Scotland. It is my favorite way to go back when I cannot donit in person.

Set Me Free is the third book is Daniela Sacerdoti's Glen Avich series - there are now four books. I had read the previous two a while ago and couldn't really remember much of the plots, just that I had enjoyed them, but you can easily read this as a standalone. This was such an enjoyable book. Margherita has separated from her husband and taken her children to Glen Avich to spend summer with her mother. Torcuil Ramsay is the lord of the manor though not the crusty old man Margherita was visuali [...]

Having enjoyed Watch Over Me (2011) and Take Me Home (2014), when Black & White Publishing asked me to take part in the blog tour for Set Me Free I couldn't resist. The story begins with a prologue of a soldier's reflection of war. Experience of Dani's writing meant I was watching out for this as the story progressed.Cracks begin to appear in Margherita and Ash's marriage when she falls pregnant. Ash (45), workaholic and with a cold and unemotional mother calls the pregnancy a 'bad situation. [...]

I would like to thank Janne at B&W publishing for sending me a copy of Set Me Free in exchange for an honest review and for allowing me to be part of this blog tour.Set Me Free is the first book of Daniela’s I’ve read and it certainly will not be the last. The book starts with Margherita and Ash’s marriage beginning to show cracks. Margherita’s pregnancy only seems to divide them further, the tenuous relationship with Ash’s mother making their relationship even more fragile. Then o [...]

The opening chapters of this book gripped me in the way only the despair of a good and loving person can. Although at times I felt angry with the protagonist, I know how easy it is to get stuck with something, thinking that you do not have any other choice. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆Synopsis:"Margherita lives in London with her family, and although the introduction to the charact [...]

I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher in return for an honest review.Margherita’s marriage seems to be falling apart. After trying for a baby and not having any success, Margherita and Ash decide to adopt a child. A few years later Margherita eventually falls pregnant and is naturally over the moon. However, her husband doesn't seem to be very pleased with her news and is of very little support to her.Needing a break and some time away to think things through, Margherita decides to s [...]

Invece ho odiat [...]

I love Daniella's books and this one is no different. I loved the characters - especially Lara, Margarita and Torcuil - how do you pronounce his name??! The only one I really disliked was Ash - right from the beginning when she told him she was pregnant and he reacted coldly and all the way to the end with the words he said to Lara. Lara and Mal - now I'd guessed about them from the beginning as I know that Daniella likes to add a supernatural element to her books, even though I'd guessed it it [...]

There is something about Daniela Sacerdoti's books that I absolutely love. As a rule I read Thrillers and Contemporary Fiction but this is the 3rd Glen Avich book I have read and I have loved them all. They all have a spiritual theme in the background but this is very well written. I am not a full believer of the spiritual world but I do think something else exists. Daniela puts this across in a totally believable way in all her books and I wasn't disappointed this time. An absolutely lovely boo [...]

Another lovely simple tale from the author of the Glen Avich series. Nice characters and fabulous setting in the Scottish highlands all lend the way to a good read by the fire on these damp and cool autumn evenings. The continued theme of slightly supernatural elements sets the series apart from a straight forward love story. I will look forward to the next book.

  • Jo

Maybe I should have read the first two books in the series before starting this one! Liked the writing style and the setting of Glen Avich - maybe because I live in the Highlands myself. Enjoyed the characters but wasn't expecting the 'beyond the grave' part although I have read this is the authors style. I will go back and read the two earlier titles.

I love the Glen Avich series with its beautiful loch and the amazingly warm setting it takes place in. Scaredoti always blends in real life issues with a touch of the supernatural/ghostly with such finesse. I preferred the main character in this story to that of her previous one "Inary". Definitely an honest emotional struggle that was captured.

I just loved this book and from the moment I started reading I just could not stop.Being Scottish and far from home it made me feel quite homesick and I could just imagine the fresh air and the countryside.Would recommend this story to all with a romantic heart, and felt the characters portrayed in this book were deserving of their happy ending except for Ash who got his just desserts.

  • Hayley

Great read Read this after reading book 1ked the story probably would have liked more spirit stuff like the first book but the love story is nice so made up for it. Will be reading more books from Daniela sacerdoti. :)
