A Wonderful Follow-up to Book 1 and Lead Into Book 3!I have read the entire series so far and I love it!I loved the duel love story in this book. It was honest and heartbreaking through the parallel stories of two sisters in the late 1880's finding love. I thought it showed a real depiction of what it must have been like to navigate romances in that time period. The pressures and attitudes were spot on! You are really drawn into the era and consumed by it entirely. As far as the characters go, I [...]

*Received free from the author in exchange for an honest review*This is a sequel, and to avoid spoilers, I suggest reading the first Love on the High Plains book. It's worth the time and an enjoyable, easy read if you're not offended by church sermons. As a secular reader with no particular religious affiliation, I still enjoy these stories.I didn't enjoy this one as much, but that could be a matter of taste.I found myself loathing Wesley and continuing my dislike of him through the story. I did [...]

I was given a copy of High Plains Promise for an honest review and I can honestly say that I loved it. This author has a way of writing so that you feel as though you’ve been transported into that time period enjoying a story littered with the complicated themes of love, loss, regret, hope and happiness. I loved the character development and how we got to see how their decisions have wonderful but also heartbreaking consequences. We find ourselves watching as their imperfect lives unfold while [...]

Authentic. Gripping: The American West. A story about people who lived back then. Not about the pioneering, horses and gun-slinging… this is a fascinating tale of the attitudes of the times – of marriage and life. It is wonderfully told, so much so that you forget your real surroundings and are there living the human drama with these people. Weakness and lust, duty and necessity, love and madness… this book is a whirlwind with a hard-hitting climax. Read it.

I know this is only a make believe story butI kept asking (the kindle) why this or why did they do that. How could they be so stupid or not think this or that. The author makes these stories too real. She is so good at that. I have book 3 to read yet.The first part of the book was a small rehash of the first book, told from a slightly different approach. A well told story with a really good ending.
