My Nicki and Adam:16 years after events in first book, Nicki works for president in White House. When intense romance with her high-school boyfriend Adam Kincaid did not work out, she moved on, concentrated on carrier and found new serious boyfriend. But now Adam is back and still interested in Nicki. Is he too late? Whom will Nicki choose? Devoted and loving boyfriend or an old flame? It pains me to write this review beacuse writing was really good and I enjoyed previous book a lot. But this con [...]

4.5 StarsI was excited when I got this book but then I was so nervous to start it. Mary Whitney gave us the first chapter of Disclosure at the end of Beside Your Heart in Adam’s POV. This is the thing, I was not too happy with Adam at the end of Beside Your Heart. However, I know no one can take the place of one’s true love and soul mate.I had no idea what was going to happen in this book I started it and I am also going to (hopefully) leave it like that after you read my review. This is a b [...]

This is book 2 of the trilogy. The story between Nick and Adam continues, and 16 years after they last saw each other they are back in each other's life. Small detail, Nicki has a latin lover boyfriend, the delicious Juan Carlos. And Adams has some fancy british lady of his own back home. This story takes place in the White House and in between press debriefs, travels in none other than Air Force One and political background we see how and if Nicki and Adam will get back together. My love for Mar [...]

MICHELLE: Sweet Lord Almighty. I don't even know how to start this. Who do I love more? Adam? Nicki? MARY WHITNEY???Seriously- this was one of my most highly anticipated sequels this year and it exceeded all of my expectationsPPER: OMG I couldn't agree more. I NEEDED this book. Sometimes with sequels, I'm like whatever- after the initial waiting period has happened. But I needed the rest of Adam and Nicki's story. And it was amazingMICHELLE: It really was. I started to panic. Not going to lie. Wh [...]

Disclosure of the Heart is such an emotional journey of true love finding it's way home. No true love is never easy nor is it hard but at times it can be a journey of self discovery and realization that the heart wants what the heart wants and no one or no thing can stand in it's way. To say that this story had me on pins and needles is such an understatement because at times I loved it and at times I hated it. That is why Mary gets five million stars for me because I know what it feels like to [...]

4.5 StarsThe book I've been waiting for since the epilogue in BESIDE YOUR HEART. A fabulous story that is the continuation of Nicki Johnson and Adam Kincaid's relationship, with a fifteen year break. Nothing was easy in their high school relationship, so why would it be any different for them as adults.Nicki Johnson is now the Deputy Press Secretary under the newly inaugurated President Logan. Adam Kincaid is the BBC's White House Correspondent. Their jobs may dictate they have a professional re [...]

Oh, boy this book pulls you in different directions. I loved the first book and couldn't wait to pick up the story of how they meet again. They are both seeing other people when they meet again at a White House Press conference after sixteen years since he left for England at the end of book 1. This is a wonderful story about two people who where meant to be together, and who have learnt that even though they've been apart for so many years, the connection and friendship they once had, never real [...]

Nicki Johnson is on top of her game, she has achieved a level in her career through hard work and dedication. When she should be vibrating with joy because of her achievements instead she is a bundle of nerves, in the press conference room of the White House is her old flame Adam Kindcaid.Mary Whitney is a smart woman, she guides the reader through the halls of the White House, places us in the bowels of Air Force One all with the assurance of an insider showing the reader how two very smart peo [...]

5 starsI'm in a very happy place atm, I loved Disclosure of the Heart. After I read Beside Your Heart I was a sobbing mess, I needed to know what the future held for Nicki and Adam. In Disclosure of the Heart we get all the answers and so much more Mary Whitney has such a wonderful way with her words. You find yourself feeling everything her characters are going through and as an avid reader I find this creates a deeper connection to the story that leaves you with a full and happy heart. If you [...]

Such a nice HEA! Review to come with my tour date on 11/22**FULL REVIEW**“Why had he gone back to beat reporting and taken the job at the White House? Was it just because it was an exciting new presidency? Or did he care that I was there?”Adam Kincaid has gone into journalism, BBC to be exact; and an opportunity of a lifetime has just come up. He will get to be a correspondent at the White House. Going back to America, after being in UK for the last 15+ years, Adam faces more than just a new [...]

I really thought I was going to love this but it wasn't meant to be. "Then he'd broken my heart, and though he'd desperately tried, all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't have put it back together again."When I read the first book in the series, Beside Your Heart, I thought that *this* was the story I wanted. I wanted the story of their second chance, I wanted to see how they were going to get back to together. Now, whilst this book was that story, it wasn't at all how I was hopin [...]

Let me begin by admitting that I have not read the first book in this series, Beside Your Heart, and I regret not doing it before reading Disclosure of the Heart. We all wonder what it would be like if only. . . There is someone in the past, whether a first love or another love that leave us wondering if we could only get back together what would it be like. Nicki Johnson gets a chance to find out in Disclosure of the Heart.Nicki seems to have the world at her feet, working at the White House as [...]

I loved this book. Nicki and Adam are made for each other. It took them 16 years to get back together but if it is meant to be it is meant to be. It was amazing how fate brought them back together. The love they shared when they were 17 was very intense and when they had to end the relationship it was heartbreaking. Nicki had to stay in Texas while Adam had to move back to England. I cried in the first book and was so depressed that their love story had to end….but it ended with a brief view o [...]

First I want to say a HUGE thank you to Mary for providing me with an ARC copy of this book to read & review for this blog tour in the "Beside Your Heat Series"I fell in love but also hated Adam in the first book "Beside Your Heart". I had a love/hate relationship with him throughout the book, but in this one.s my love re-kindled for him :)This is my Nicki :)And this is my Adam :)Finally Nicki has gotten over her "fling" with her highschool sweetheart Adam Kincaid, she's moved on to better a [...]

This story picked up were the first left off, which I love. I was left with many questions after the first book. I was desperate to find out what the future would hold. I was devastated to find that Nicki and Adam were no more. So I needed to know where the story went next.I was not disappointed. I loved this epic love story that spanned over years. I was really sad to find out that both Adam and Nicki had moved on in there lives though. I won't give anymore spoilers away because I want you to r [...]

There's nothing quite as good as getting back the one that got away! That's what reading Disclosure of the Heart was like for me. When Nicki and Adam were last an item, it was in highschool. Now, more than a decade later, they've both moved on with their lives. They've become, that "one true love" from the past. (We all have them.)But when Adam shows up as a reporter for the BBC, Nicki can't help but wonder if her second chance has come. This is an adult story with adult themes, like what do you [...]

  • Ellen at Book Bellas

4 1/2 stars! A very grown-up sequel to the first book in this series, Disclosure of the Heart is a wonderful story about second-chance love. Nicki works in the White House, traveling with the President and in a seemingly passionate relationship with Juan Carlos. Along comes Adam, now a BBC reporter who now has a long-term girlfriend. Nicki can’t forget her first love Adam but a relationship between them now would violate lots of rules, both personal and professional. There is lots of back-and- [...]

Ok So I was so excited when I saw the book had come out. I just loved the first one. The second one…… well the writing was fantastic. But to be honest there was way to much of the politics in the book for me. I understand that was the jobs of the H and h but I found myself in several pages just skimming the read. Again this is just me. I am not into the whole political thing. But the romance part of the book was good. Not happy that the h and H cheated on their boyfriend/ girlfriend. But I d [...]

I was given this book by author for honest review. We once again take a look into the lives of Nicki Johnson and Adam Kincaid in book 2 of this series. All grown up and several years after they’ve parted they meet at a press conference for their jobs. All of the feelings that they had when they were younger are still present and growing stronger as they discover how each has changed through the years. A thank you to Whitney for a short well written quick read that I couldn’t put down.

FULL RECOMMENDATION AND FAVORITE QUOTE ON SMUTBOOKCLUB4.5/5 starsThe will they/won't they back-and-forth seemed absolutely realistic and not at all forced like many books. Now that both books are out, this is a great series to read back-to-back, and I highly recommend it!

Was so looking forward to getting my hands on this book!!! Not disappointed. I love the political angle and that I could place myself at some of the District landmarks. Story was fantastic and well-written. Good to see the characters, main and secondary from Beside Your Heart as adults making adult decisions. Loved this book and am really looking forward to Adam's POV in book 3.

  • Jessica Nicole

I honestly didn’t know how much I was going to like this book. Being just barely older than the Young Adult crowd (and technically, I still consider myself a young adult), I generally don’t read books about thirty-somethings. However, because I knew Adam and Nicki’s story from when they were in high school, it made the second book quite adorable. Because you knew all of the drama and angst from when they had to break up in High School, it was such a relief to finally see them together ag [...]

I reviewed this at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley! Shel: 16 years after their hearts were broken Nicki and Adam still can't seem to shake the feelings they have for each other. Nicki is in an important, high powered press position for a new President and Adam has finagled his way into the White House press corpsemingly to cross paths with Nicki. Their first few meetings are uncomfortable and tense with all of the unspoken things that need to be said. As they (and we) learn about what [...]

**This review originally appeared on Night Reads. I received an ARC of this book from the author for the purposes of an honest review. All opinions are mine.**I previously posted a review of the prequel to this book, Beside Your Heart, and it probably maybe kinda left a bad taste in some people’s mouths, but it was HONEST.That being said, and with as much disappointment as I found with Beside Your Heart, Disclosure of the Heart made up for in spades. This was much more of what I was looking fo [...]

If you'll remember, I stumbled on Mary Whitney's Beside Your Heart and absolutely loved the unique story telling. Well, Ms. Whitney is back (finally - phew!) to let us know what happened to Nicki and Adam after high school. Honestly, if you haven't read Beside Your Heart, I really won't be spoiling anything for you. It's pretty well-known from the synopsis of book one that Nicki and Adam are not together after high school. But now, fifteen and half years later, Adam is trying to get back into Nic [...]

***I received an arc in exchange for an honest review***I don’t know if I’ll be able to put down in words how much I loved this book; if I have to be honest, I’m a little surprised myself, but this story really touched my heart and I hope I’ll be able to convey my feelings. It doesn’t happen often that I get so engrossed in a story I don’t want to do anything else but finish the book, but that’s what happened with this one. Disclosure Of The Heart works well as a standalone, but it [...]
