Okay I don't even know where to begin! First off let me say is that not a BEAUTIFUL cover! I love it! Emery has done an excellant job here with Anomaly! I went into this story under the misconception that here lies another vampire story, and well in essence it was but JC takes it a bit farther and kind of mixes up alot of what we have preconceived as vampires up to this point and this is what made it stand out for me! Which brings me to one of my favorite quotes from the story."“I didn’t inv [...]

I can't believe I won this in a giveaway! I'm so excited to finally get my own copy of Anomaly! I'm very happy to start this series! :)

Who Loves New Orleans, LA? THIS GIRL. Before I picked up this book for a review read (Thanks JC!), I had no idea about the setting, the scenery, or anything else. All I knew was that ANOMALY was a book about a 20-something-year-old girl in college, who suddenly finds herself with a sucky life (literally). I was pleasantly surprised when the imagery that JC Emery penned turned out to make me feel like I was back in the boot. (That’s what we Louisianans call the great state of Louisiana.) I felt [...]

I'm trying something new with my book tours and blasts reviews: keeping those short, with more in depth reviews later on or here on . Why? Well with these tours and blasts I'm doing, there's a lot of information included! Plot synopsis, author bios, author interviews/character interviews, or guest posts, etc. Soooo I'll try to split a few up and see how it goes. If I get negative comments from my book tour organizers, I'll know to keep it all together in one place! So from my upcoming participat [...]

(It was a great, fresh read. I really didn’t expect it to be this good, too bad the ending wasn’t as strong as the rest.) I can’t ask for a better thing, a better feeling, than the one that consumes my soul whenever a book turns out to be a massive surprise. I’m still not quite sure what was it that I was expecting from this story, but no doubt in my mind that this wasn’t it. Anomaly is such a refreshing read in the vampire themed story that I continue to be astonished by it. Everythin [...]

Reviewed by CrystalBook provided by the author for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookAll I can say about this book is that it was an awesome read. I couldn’t put it down and I just got so lost in it that when I reached the end I wanted more. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.Eliza has been sick with something wrong with her blood since she was younger. She can’t do things that other people her age can do and she hates that. No one wants to go out with a girl that [...]

This book is odd and I couldn't finish it. The main character is a jerk. How is it your sister got attacked and is now missing, her last effort was one to save your life, and yet all you can think of is yourself? Yes, Eliza is attacked alsod what was up with that scene, one minute a dude attacks your sister, then he kind of stands there looking at you, then a second dude shows up and wrecks your body, but you don't go into shock or conk out, you just stay conscious and sort of catalog the differ [...]

I really enjoyed JC's Marital Bitch, so was looking forward to seeing what she did with a vamp story. From the beginning, I felt a connection to Eliza, having grown up in my own sister's shadow. I really liked the way JC gave us so much information about the sisters and their relationship in that initial party scene. I had several questions though, even at the end of the book, regarding just what Eliza's illness was and how it could relate to her reaction to the attack. I think there's some addi [...]

Surprisingly good book with a not so surprisingly cliffhanger endingt even sure if or when there's another book coming out and that sucks as the book was really interesting.Eliza's character was a bit annoying as she not only spent the majority of the book getting the crap kicked out of her but she also spent more than half the time crying and screaming, I wanted to smack some courage into her and yell at her 'ENOUGH ALREADY! GROW A PAIR!' Towards the end she was a little better but not by much, [...]

Great paranormal read. Eliza is a normal college girl. She was sick as a child and still has to take meds. She isn't Ms. Social, but decides to go to a frat party with her sister and best friend. What a mistake that was. On the way home, she and her sister get attacked. Kate, her sister, comes up missing. There is a search for her. Eliza is trying to understand what happened to her that night. She returns back to the scene of the attack and meets Luke, a vampire.Eliza needs to come to terms with [...]

This book was nothing like I expected. The concept was different and fresh. I enjoyed Eliza's character a lot. She went from someone who relied on others in the beginning to claiming her independence in the end. She transformed throughout the story. Luke on the other hand, I didn't care much for. He was too wishy washy as a love interest and supporting character. I really wanted to see more romance in this book, but that was really the only thing I disliked. As far as storyline, it flowed well. [...]

I was really impressed with this book. I was disappointed to see the next in the series in not out, nor is it coming out soonEliza is a college student who lives a comfortable life with her sister, Kate and grandmother in New Orleans. While Eliza has always had poor health, her sister has been her caretaker and best friend. On the way home from a party one evening, both Eliza and Kate are attacked. Kate goes missing and Eliza is bitten by a vampire who utters an odd phrase at her. As Eliza inves [...]

I gave this book 2 stars because I think there could actually be a good story here with a bit of editing and just more story. This seemed like a very drawn out prologue, no answers were revealed, things just happened. Eliza wasn't a very likable character, she just seemed very wishy washy and didn't ever really see the big picture. Luke was interesting but we never really learn about him. Her grandmother seems like she knows more than she's letting on but that's another topic that is never revis [...]

When I first began reading JC Emery’s Anomaly, I thought that it was going to be similar to other vampire stories I have read in the past—which isn’t a terrible thought, since quite a few of them are rather good—but I was wrong. While Anomaly begins as a run-of-the-mill vampire story, it rapidly evolves into a unique and interesting storyline that had me constantly guessing what was coming next. While the ending wasn’t what I had hoped for or expected, I absolutely recommend this book [...]

Great storyline but.love the story and backdrop, but there were so many unanswered questions I would have like to have cleared up before the end of the first book. Also, bad editing! typos everywhere, some sentences even repeated themselves completely. Also, bad editing! typos everywhere, some sentences even repeated themselves completely. Distracting right? Bad enough I considered deleting it but glad I didn't, so on to number 2.

I enjoyed the first book in this series. I really like Luke! I thought he as sexy but Eliza I wish would just grow a pair. I get the whole thing with her sister is hard, but with everyone but Luke she let's them walk all over her and she is sooo whinny! Fuck just due something. She complains she doesn't want to be the sick girl but now that she isn't she still acts like it. anyone I liked this first book and I can't wait for book two!

Anomaly by JC Emery is a great Vampire read. The New Orleans setting is classic, but the spin JC puts on it is completely original.JC's writing flows well and kept me engaged in the story as soon as I opened it until I finished it that same night. I spent HOURS reading, but I had to know what was going to happen next.Eliza's character grows from the first page through the last and I cannot wait for book 2 to see where she goes from here! Great Job, JC!

This had me on the edge of my seat awaiting what would be revealed on th. Griping the side of chair with the events as they unfolded only to have more questions that I needed to have answered. I am still waiting for my heart to slow down I am sad that I reached the end but can not wait for the next book. You have to read this book. WOW

Uninspired and formulaic in a bad way. I made it just past the first appearance of Luke Conrad before giving up.
